SESSIONS RESUME AT THE START OF SEPTEMBER
Drop-in SessionsBooking is not required for the regular weekly sessions, meaning that you can just turn up and draw! Please do continue to book a place for the regular Sunday portrait class & Single Pose Sundays. For the past 11 years this modus operandi has made for a simple and very flexible way to do life drawing and I would like to think it could continue to work well for everyone concerned.
Tuesday
On Tuesday evenings I am always available to offer friendly and individual tutoring with what is an inherently difficult task. Whether you are a complete novice, unsure of how to get started, or a more practiced artist who would like a fresh pair of eyes to scan your drawing, I will be happy to assist. With over 25 years of art teaching experience, there are few life drawing problems which I can't help you sort out, so please do let me know if you need some guidance. Over the years, Stroud Life Drawing has proved to be a safe and non-judgmental studio in which to draw the figure, so do come along and give it a go!
Saturday
Untutored sessions which give you the freedom to work in the medium & style of your choice. That said, I am always happy to offer advice. The emphasis is on longer pose work so there are typically just one or two poses in an afternoon. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available during the fifteen minute mid afternoon break and this is included in the cost of the session.
Sunday
‘Single Pose Sunday’ all day life-drawing events will continue to operate on an occasional basis and will have a limited number of bookable places. Details will be posted on this website as usual.
The popular, monthly portrait sessions will continue but with limited, bookable places. These generally take place on the first or second Sunday of the month. |
Fully Equipped Art StudioWe work in a purpose-built art studio equipped with controllable lighting, easels, chairs, tall stools, and drawing boards, For those who want to work in acrylics, ink or watercolour, there is also a large sink and running water in the room.
